Sarab Molasses

From French tobacco to the sealed pack

Every pack of Sarab goes through the same stages, in one factory, to the same standards.

Location

Jericho Agro-Industrial Park, Palestine

We chose it for its infrastructure, which meets environmental and international manufacturing standards, and for its closeness to the crossings, which makes importing tobacco and flavours easier.

Sweetening

Fruit sugar, not white sugar

We sweeten Sarab molasses with the finest fruit sugar (fructose), not white sugar (sucrose), because fruit sugar keeps the molasses moist and even, from the factory to the session.

Moisture

Fructose · fruit sugar

Draws in moisture and holds it inside the tobacco leaf, so the molasses stays moist and supple for longer.

Sucrose · white sugar

Holds moisture less well, so the molasses dries out sooner once the pack is open.

Texture in the pack

Fructose · fruit sugar

Dissolves more readily and crystallises more slowly, so the molasses stays even from the first of the pack to the last.

Sucrose · white sugar

Tends to crystallise: sugar grains appear, and the molasses clumps or its liquid separates.
