Smoking Kills

Some people believe that smoking shisha is less harmful than cigarettes. In fact, a long shisha session exposes the smoker to large amounts of smoke and carbon monoxide.

The water absorbs only a little of the nicotine, so the risk of addiction remains. Smoking shisha for forty-five minutes can triple exposure to nicotine and sharply raise the levels of carbon monoxide and blood nicotine, as well as the heart rate.

Estimates suggest that the tar produced by one gram of shisha tobacco is about 72 times that produced by one gram of cigarettes.
